3D websites - Avatars
To walk around in a virtual world you need an avatar. Website visitors need to be instantly represented by an avatar without having to go through a series of questions like: What is your gender? or What is the color of your hair?
People that simply visit a website don't usually want to immediately be confronted with any questions. Certainly not with personal questions about their gender, color of their hair or color of their eyes. On the other hand is it not easy to provide someone with a reasonable avatar without asking those questions.
To overcome this dilemma, we use simple dummies that have no gender or hair color. The dummy is the same for everyone, but if you want you can change it's skin color.
